This is my kind of word. I have met people that palaver. They talk a lot but say nothing. Can’t wait to inflict this one on my friends.

What excuse did this drunk driver use?
Quebec provincial police got an unexpected surprise Thursday when they pulled over a man for impaired driving and found a dead body in the car.
Either he’s so drunk that he can’t remember the hit. Which isn’t good for the impaired driving bit. Or he really only blew just over the limit and well…

I love reading Stephen King. The reason I love him so much is because he gets deep down into the character’s like and dislikes. What annoys them and what gets them excited. He is only one of two adult authors I have ever read, and he’s the only one that gets into the character’s brains.
I’m not out to copy Stephen King’s style, although I’d love to. But what it brings to mind is what I have missing in my writing. What do the characters think of each other. What do they think of the antagonists. Keep reading →

Well maybe not really a man, but damn. This is a whole new perspective on gender and roles and reproduction and are you my mommy or papy?
Mr Beatie, who sports a wispy beard, made headlines around the world when he revealed in April that he was pregnant.
It’s one thing having to explain gay parents, that’s something society has pretty much accepted. But how do you explain this. I bet she’ll be having fun introducing her boyfriend to her mother/father.

One of the big problems I run into when writing is the dynamics between two characters. If I have two characters that are being deceitful with each other in a conversation and one character is asked a question that could possibly put her in a tight spot, how do I get that character to respond.
The answer that this character gives will determine how smart/dumb she is. Does she tell the truth. Does she lie. Or does she attempt to avoid the subject. The problem is if the writer is not usually deceitful then it can be difficult to resolve this issue. Sometimes writing a blog post like this will help you think. Or try to put yourself in that very similar situation against someone else in your current life.
Whom have you been deceitful with and the opposition never managed to suspect your lie? Uhm, I think I just answered my own question.

Everyone learns differently. Sometimes they can read the same tutorial as everyone else, everyone will get it except one person. So the best way to learn is to keep reading as many tutorials and books as possible until that proverbial light bulb goes off in your head.
Here’s a new post that I ran into that provides a different perspective on writing — enjoy.

I picked up this post on Jane Sample’s blog about real Amazon Bible reviews. I gotta say that it’s hilarious. Must must read.

Québec, sometimes, is one damn weird province. As some Americans may know, July 1st is Canada Day. But what just clicked today, but in reverse, is that July 1st is also Quebec Moving Day.
July 1st is the day where rental leases expire. It is the only day where leases can be signed and thus people can move. The company that run’s all of Ile Des Soeurs’ (where I live) rentals do not stick to the July 1st rule.
Pizza sales were up that day (english translation) and 30 Montreal families were left homeless. People who rented trucks (english translation) ahead of time found themselves abandoned.
